World Congress  in Garderen, Holland 2000

It was a truly International show at the World Congress, BIS was Copper Queens Auxesia by Xoxa, Danish bred by an American dog Ch. Kwetu's Xoxa in Denmark.  The RBB was American bred. Ch. Aslan's Dolly of Ikimba.  The RBIS and BD was Dutch bred, Eng. Ch. Vizara Shemesh of Shabani.

It was an excellent result for Marianne Aaltonen from Finland who not only owned the RBB but also in partnership with Ula Britt Ekengren the RBD who came from the Breeder's Class, namely, Am. Fin.Ch. Ikimba Shadyridge Okoa.  Okoa was exported as a puppy to American and campaigned to his championship which he received two weeks before returning to Finland.  African Judge Alan Ventress judged the older classes in dogs and was very tough in his gradings, only giving Excellents to 1 dog in Breeder's class and 6 out of 29 in the Open Class.  For a moment it did appear that perhaps a referee would be required as Judge Barbara Rupert from the USA who judged the bitches had put through a different type of bitch to Alan Ventress's choice but eventually the bitch won.

The younger classes were mainly of dutch breeding and were judged by Dutch Allrounder Hans van den Berg and Ann Woodrow.

It will be interesting to see if the next World Congress will be so fortunate in producing such an International entry but it is probably doubtful as it will be in the USA in 2004 but you never know perhaps by then some English dogs may be able to travel.  If you find the USA is too far you will be pleased to know that in 2008 the Irish and Scottish Clubs are combining to have a Celtic Congress in Dublin, Ireland.
