All the staff who work here at long meadow are taken on because of their ability to show compassion and empathy with animals. It is essential to your role here that you love all animals and are willing to always work hard and do your best for them, putting the animals needs first.
Julie – Lead Hand
Julie has worked for us for about 2 years, initially starting in a part-time position. It wasn’t long before we recognised her ability, dutiful character and her commitment in caring for animals so offered her the position of Lead Hand. She has owned a range of different breeds and animals over the years including Mastiffs, Bulldogs, Rotties and horses. She has a special love for bull breeds and currently has a Dogue de Bordeaux and a Bulldog. She has a natural talent for reading animals and is especially good at making them feel at ease. Julie loves dogs and dogs love Julie.
Sian – Senior Animal Care Worker
Has a National Diploma in Animal Management and has worked for us now over 5 years, and progressed with in her role. Starting with us as a temporary animal care worker and now working as our senior animal care worker. Sian is great with all the animals we have here. We know we can always rely upon Sian when we have our more timid guests. She has a great empathy with animals. She spends the time required to calm a nervous animal and get to know them, helping them feel at home. We know her here as our in house cat whisperer.
